​6:45 P.M. Welcome; orientation; weekend overview

 

​7:00 P.M. Competition Viewing - Novice

 

​7: 30 P.M. Speaker

                   ~ Ruth Bollongino, chief scientist for Project Janszoon ~ a conservation trust working in partnership                             with DoC to help the ecological restoration of the Abel Tasman National Park

8:30 P.M. Organise Field Trips / Supper Provided

 

Saturday 24th August

 

06:45 A.M - Meet at Janie Seddon (old shipwreck on estuary shore) for sunrise photo shoot (optional!)

                         (sunrise is at 07:06 a.m) (Directions will be provided)

 

​08:00-08:30 A.M. -Meet for Field Trips - Collect Lunches

08:30 A.M  Sharp!  - Bus leaves for Boat Trip to Abel Tasman National Park with Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle                                                     (additional cost)                                   

09:00 A.M - Scenic Tours

                       1) Riwaka Resurgence- An easy-grade bush walk to the deep-spring source of the Riwaka River                                  + Little Kaiteriteri, a delightful, (slightly) secret bay, tucked around the corner from the main tourist

                        area

                      2) Mapua Wharf- Renovated cool stores with art galleries, cafes, shops & a photo museum of the

                          wharf's history,

                          + Somerset Farm Settlers Cottage (c.1859), Upper Moutere

                          This picturesque cottage - one of the few thatched cottages in New Zealand,

                          - has been lovingly restored by a trust since 1989. (Free entry)

 

​4:30 P.M. At Top 10 Holiday Park

                    ~ Culture Samoa ~ an exhilarating demonstration of Song & Dance

 

5:30 P.M Meet for Social Time/ drinks at Motueka RSA (5 minutes walk from venue)

 

​6: PM Dinner at Motueka RSA

 

​7:30 P.M. Back to Venue -Speaker~ Don Pittham FPSNZ, ANPSNZ

 

​8:15 P.M. Competition Viewing - Open/ Landscape/Nature
